Once and for All

“But you never know what you can do until you try, and if you’re lucky what you love will always be waiting for you.”

-Sarah Dessen, Once and for All

Sarah Dessen has done it again! In Once and for All, Dessen brings back the same feeling I received when I read some of my favorites like The Truth about Forever and Just Listen. This story follow Louna, a girl who lost an once-in-a-lifetime love during a tragic event. Being a daughter of a wedding planner, whose own marriage went downhill, will she be able to find love again?

Louna Barrett, a wedding planner’s assistant and daughter, finds herself skeptical and distant about the thought of love and the possibility of finding it again. After her first love had ended tragically and heartbreakingly, she is guarded against any others who may open her heart again.  But when she meets Ambrose, a serial dater and a “dog-napper,” she is challenged to date with no intention of it lasting while he on the other hand is urged to date one person exclusively; will she be able to keep it casual or find love again?

I would recommend this book to any that either love Sarah Dessen’s writing or love a good Young Adult Romance. This story has a great mixture of humor, romance, and heartbreak that will keep you wanting more. Warning, I did feel tears coming and going as I read, as I was absorbed in the story of a couple particular characters. As always, I will continue to read Sarah Dessen’s books and most likely enjoy them immensely.
